Dr. Rob Kurtzman is an Osteopathic physician who moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1992 from Detroit, Michigan. He is certified in Forensic pathology, Anatomic pathology, and Laboratory medicine and practices pathology at Community Hospital, and serves as the elected Coroner of Mesa County.

Dr. Kurtzman's interest in outdoor photography and biologic sciences began as a child growing up in Philadelphia, spending countless hours at museums of natural history and science, and in parks through the northeast United States. His love of nature of the world around us also extends to the patterns of nature of the microscopic world seen through the microscope.

Dr. Kurtzman has not had any formal training in photography and enjoys studying and analyzing the work of other photographers and his own images. He developed his first roll of film when he was eight years old and was instantly captivated. He believes it is essential to understand to technical aspects of photography to facilitate the art of photography.
