Mary Ellen Miller
"I draw and paint to express the peace and joy I experience from the natural world in a way that others might also find pleasure and respite from today's frantic pace. I do not wish to create anew but to renew our relationship to the magnificent world already created. The ever changing effects of light and weather on the landscape of Southwest
Colorado are an unending source of inspiration. I try to capture and preserve these
moments to be felt and enjoyed again and again."
Ms. Miller is an Ohio native and lived in Florida and Wyoming before moving to
Colorado. She has an Associate in Fine Art Degree from Manatee Community College in Bradenton, Florida and studied drawing at Mt. Union College in Alliance, Ohio as well as private instruction in Florida and Ohio. She is skilled in the use of watercolor, colored
pencils and oils and also works with clay as a sculptural medium.
Mary Ellen has participated in many one person and juries shows including the Color
Pencil Society of America International Show. She has received First Place, Purchase and other Awards. Her work has been published in Best of Color Pencil II and is in public and
private collections throughout the United States and in England.
